Hi everyone. James here. As you all surely know, the last few pages are being written and soon we’ll close the book on 2016. For us at Casual Photophile, it’s been a great and challenging year, and we want to finish it off with a message to our readers, and with a round-up of the articles that were our personal favorites.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your hobby and for taking the time to read, comment, share, and follow. 2016 was just the second full year that CP has existed and I’m amazed and bolstered by the modest success the site has enjoyed. The more than 1,000,000 visitors that we’ve had is a milestone I never dreamed of reaching when I founded the site from the humble surroundings of a basement home-office. I’m proud that my and Josh’s writings have been featured on noteworthy photo sites like PetaPixel, JapanCameraHunter, and B&H Photo’s social networks, and I think we’ve created a lot of compelling content for you all to enjoy.
More than anything, I hope we’ve been of some use to you. I hope we’ve helped you learn something, entertained you, and helped you enjoy photography a bit more than you might’ve had the site not existed. Thanks for helping us grow and joining us in spreading the joy of classic cameras in the modern age.
2017 is going to be a massive year for the site, and we’re looking forward to growing Casual Photophile into a special destination for all photo geeks. We’ve got lots of new ideas and content on the way, and a few secret developments that’ll allow CP to grow even faster in the new year.
Until then, feel free to comment here and let us know what you’d like to see in the future. More frequent posts? Daily articles? Video content? More of the same? You name it. We’re listening.
Happy New Year, everyone. Go shoot some photos.
One last thing – here’s a small sample of our favorite articles, cameras, etc. Catch up, enjoy some good writing, and share these special posts with your friends.
